Tar And Gravel Roofing
We install dozens of different materials to repair or replace any type of roof on the market, including Tar and Gravel Roofing.
Built Up Tar And Gravel Roofing
Tar and Gravel Roofing is one of the oldest types of commercial roof here in the United States. It has been in use for well over 100 years. It’s often called a gravel roof by clients, and in the industry it is frequently referred to as a “built up” roof. This “built up” process consists of multiple layers of asphalt or tar supported by fabrics. Either you choose the number of layers or we can choose the optimal number of layers we would recommend for you, and the final top layer is spread out gravel rocks.
More Advanced Than Just Rocks On The Roof
Some just see this as just “rocks on the roof”, but there are a number of advantages to going with Tar and Gravel. For one, the process is cost effective. The base materials used are some of the most inexpensive roofing materials on the market, and it has proven to hold up over a long period of years. Secondly, this method is in factor durable. The rocks provide a protective barrier to protect the foundational layers from the son, hail, and other natural elements while the bottom layer works as a sealant to protect the structure from water and funnels it to drain off the of the roof. Lastly, many property owners like the vintage look and style of this type of roof and they prefer to continue the tradition. Since it provides lasting protection, we are all too happy to accommodate them. We’ll come in and either repair or entirely replace what is there to give you the peace of mind in knowing that the interior is safe from water and mold.
High Quality Layered Roofing System By A High Quality Neighborhood Contractor
Owner Doug Schmidt has been a local resident of Bloomington since 1981 when he began college here. He brings integrity and trust into an industry where little integrity and trust exists. Our company regularly comes onto projects and sees roofs that are missing entire layers of material that should be there as an additional backup layer of protection incase water gets through. This is also done in accordance to code. Other times we find leaks that were caused by contractors who simply nailed in areas that they shouldn’t have and allowing water to trickle into the walls of the home. Doug has been in the construction business for decades and he has the experience to remedy any property issue you are having beyond just roofing. You can avoid having to call us second to fix another contractor’s work…by simply calling us first. Call now at 812.650.2424. We look forward to hearing from you!
