Legacy® Scotchgard™ Roofing Shingles

Malarkey Roofing Product’s Legacy® roofing shingles are in a class of their own. They perform better, last longer and are more sustainable than industry-standard shingles.
Malarkey’s NEX® polymer modified asphalt Legacy® shingles are performance-engineered to outlast average shingles. They are made of upcycled rubber and plastics for improved strength and elasticity. These materials include tires and plastic bags that would otherwise end up in landfills.
The rubberized core helps with all-weather protection and delamination. A larger nailing area, The Zone®, ensures longer nailing lines and shingle backing to penetrate both shingle layers. This secures nails and prevents leaking and lifting.
The 3M™ copper granule shingles are algae-resistant, and their enhanced granule adhesion prevents scuffing and UV damage.
Legacy® shingles are crafted with double the adhesive bond strength of their standard counterparts. They also have double the rain seals, twice as large of a nailing area and double the backing shim length. Explore other performance expectations.
Class 4 Impact Rating
These shingles can withstand strong winds, hail and debris impacts. They are suited for areas that experience extreme weather conditions like thunderstorms, hail and hurricanes. Their Class 4 impact rating is the highest, meeting the strict FORTIFIED™ roofing requirements set by the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS). The Class 4 impact rating exceeds the industry standard and some of Malarkey Roofing Products’ alternative shingles.
Tear Strength
Tear strength determines how easily a roof shingle tears under pressure and force. The Legacy® shingle’s tear strength is up to 35% more than industry standard shingles. It’s designed to withstand winds of up to 60 miles per hour and adhere to the ASTM D3462 compliance standards.
Granule Adhesion
Granules are an important component of asphalt shingles. They cover the shingles, adding color and protecting them from UV ray damage. Our Malarkey Legacy® roofing shingles’ adhesion is up to 65% greater than standard shingles.
Smog Reduction
Smog and harmful pollutants can impact roofing materials over time. Malarkey products use 3M™ material designed to help reduce the effects of smog on shingles by breaking down pollutants so rainfall easily removes them.
